Refund Policy
Effective Date: June 3, 2026 · Last Updated: June 3, 2026
In plain English
- 30-day free trial - no credit card, no charge. There is nothing to refund during the trial.
- To keep using BooksNav after the trial, you pay in advance. You get a 7-day grace period after the trial to make that first payment.
- Changed your mind after paying? Email us within 7 days of your first payment for a full refund - no questions asked.
- Billing is prepaid, so you cancel simply by not renewing - you keep access through the period you already paid for. We don't pro-rate partial periods.
- Service outages or accidental double-charges - email us and we'll make it right.
1. 30-day free trial
Every new BooksNav account begins with a 30-day free trial. No payment method is required to start, and no charge of any kind is made during the trial. You sign up, connect your QuickBooks company, and use the full application for 30 days.
Because nothing is collected up front, there is no refund question during the trial. If you decide BooksNav isn't for you, simply don't make a payment when the trial ends. At the end of the trial (and the grace period described below) your account moves to a limited read-only state; your data and saved settings are preserved if you choose to subscribe later.
2. Paying after your trial - prepaid, with a 7-day grace period
To continue after the 30-day trial, you pay for your subscription in advance for the upcoming billing period. You have a grace period of seven (7) days after the trial ends to make that first payment, and your access continues during the grace period.
If you have not paid by the end of the grace period, your account moves to a limited read-only state - no charge is ever made automatically, and no balance accrues. Each subsequent period is likewise paid in advance.
3. First payment - 7-day money-back guarantee
If you make your first payment after the trial and then decide BooksNav isn't for you, you may request a full refund of that payment within seven (7) calendar days of the payment, for any reason.
The 7-day guarantee applies to your first payment only - subsequent prepaid renewals are not eligible (see Section 4). To request a refund under this section, email contact@booksnav.com from the email address on your account within the 7-day window. We will process the refund to your original payment method within 5 business days of confirming the request (your bank or payment provider may take additional time to post it).
4. Prepaid model - cancel by not renewing
Because billing is prepaid, there is no recurring charge to "cancel" - you cancel simply by not paying for the next period. When a period you've paid for ends and you choose not to renew, your access continues until the end of that paid period and your account then moves to a limited read-only state. We do not issue pro-rated refunds for unused portions of a period you've already paid for. All your saved searches, pivot configurations, and other data are preserved in case you choose to subscribe again.
We may change our prices for any future period without prior notice. Because billing is prepaid, you will always see the current price before you choose to pay for the next period, and a price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
5. Service outages
If BooksNav experiences a significant service outage that materially prevents you from using the application during a period you've paid for (e.g. a multi-day outage caused by something within our reasonable control), email us and we will evaluate a service-credit or partial refund on a case-by-case basis. Outages caused by upstream provider issues (Intuit, Clerk, Neon, Google Cloud, or our payment provider) are outside our reasonable control and are not independently grounds for a refund, but we will work with you in good faith if such an outage materially impacts your work.
6. Accidental or duplicate charges
If you believe you have been charged in error, charged twice for the same period, or charged after you intended to stop, email us within thirty (30) days of the payment and we will investigate. Confirmed billing errors are refunded in full. We prefer to resolve payment disputes directly by email - it is faster for everyone - so please reach out before initiating a dispute with your bank or payment provider; we will work with you in good faith.
7. Currency and tax
Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original payment, for the same amount (less any non-refundable taxes already remitted to the relevant jurisdiction, where applicable). Exchange-rate differences between your payment date and your refund date are not adjusted for.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your payment governs that payment. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when we make material changes.
9. Contact
For any refund request or billing question, email contact@booksnav.com. Include your account email and a brief description of your request so we can route it quickly.
This Refund Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
